Martin is a highly experienced marketing communications consultant, trainer and author.  He started his own consultancy business in 2007 after a twenty year career with some of the world’s leading advertising, PR and sponsorship agencies.  During the past few years he has provided strategic business, brand and marketing communications advice to a numerous private and public sector organisations.

His first book, Crowd Surfing, examined how institutions around the world are responding to consumer empowerment.  This led to him undertaking numerous speaking engagements and workshop programmes in Europe and North America on the strategic application of social media.  He has also chaired over 30 social media conferences during the past two years.  His latest book, Loose, explains why institutions need to adopt a looser approach to the way that they think and work if they are to survive and thrive in our highly complex, hyper-connected world.

Martin is a non-executive director of Sport England and the Commonwealth Games Council for England, an advisor to the Courtauld and the Future Foundation and a Fellow of the RSA.
